Jigsaw Effect using Gimp 2

I managed to make jigsaw effect pictures using Gimp 2. It's quite easy once you get the hang of it, however it does take a little time.
First of all apply a jigsaw filter. (To do this go to Filter > Render > Pattern > Jigsaw and then set the jigsaw how ever you decide. The less pieces you make, the less work to do within the photograph.)
Then using either the Intelligent Scissors tool or the Free selection tool, whichever you find easier, go round the outline of an individual jigsaw piece, click the centre of the selection and right click to cut the image, then go to the layers menu and press Ctrl and V to paste the image to a new layer. This will separate the jigsaw piece from the others and you can play about with it and repeat it as much as you want.
