My name is Rebekah Rogers, although I prefer to be called Bekah. I am 21 years old and I live in bonny Scotland. I have just completed a HND in Photography. I have been interested in photography since I was young. I began with a little compact camera, then I got a little Fujifilm bridge camera before entering the world of DSLRs. I now work in a camera shop where I sell cameras.
My first DSLR was a Nikon D50 which was a decent little thing. It took pictures, which was what I needed. I had two lenses for it. The kit lens it came with, a trusty, go-to 18-55mm and a Tamron 70-300mm which I got for a wildlife photography workshop. The D50 nad the 18-55 kit lens have now been donated to my sister.
I decided to treat myself to a Nikon D5500 this year, which is a very good camera, although I don't use the effects it offers and having a touchscreen on a camera was a whole new experience for me, however for looking back at images on the camera screen, it makes zooming in a lot easier as I did struggle with the D50 at times when trying to zoom in. I've now got a 17-50mm Sigma 2.8 lens to replace my 18-55 kit lens as the auto-focus had stopped working.
My advice for cameras is always read the manual. I don't listen to my own advice though.
